About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintain a private practice in Sacramento, CA.

I began working in the field of counseling as a peer counselor for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse about fifteen years ago. I am intrigued by the impact of developmental trauma on the mind, body and spirit and the multiple avenues to recovery from physical and emotional pain. When we struggle to follow through on choices or change unhealthy behaviors, it is likely we will find that experiences from our past are influencing our current actions. We don't have to spend years in analysis to make the changes we desire; newer neurobiologically based techniques can speed up the process. My specialties include the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, parent-child relationship issues, and physical symptoms arising from medical or emotional issues.

I am an interactive, cognitive-behavioral therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

I am a Master Practitioner of Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT). I use ETT much like other therapists use EMDR. It is a newer therapeutic paradigm that can provide rapid relief of unwanted emotions and emotional states. ETT is safe and can provide long-term results in only a few sessions.

In addition to my training and experience as a therapist, I also have over 20 years experience as a business professional. Most recently I spent three years as Clinical Director at two different residential programs for severely emotionally disturbed youth.
